In May, I set a goal for myself to upload a vlog every week and guess what: I DID IT! Actually, there are five vlogs that are up on my channel right now and the latest one is a week in review and features a little bit of celebrating! Rob turned 40, we had family in town and Rob also took a week off to have a little staycation. So yeah, things were a little quiet on the blog, but I did get lots of vlog footage!
Happy Birthday! Let’s Eat Cake
So yeah, Rob turned 40 and honestly, that just amazes me! When did we get so old?!?! HA!!! I know, I know, age is just a number and I know that the whole turning 40 didn’t freak him out like it will for me in a few years. We had family in town, we ate a ton of cake and we relaxed, enjoyed the pool and ventured out in Atlanta a little bit. I think he had a pretty good week and the best Birthday present of all for Rob?!? NOT having to go to jury duty was icing on the cake I’m sure!
Sephora VIB Rouge Fall Preview Event
I was invited to this and had every intention of going, but guess who woke up with a sore throat and felt like crap. Yep, lucky me! So I missed the event, but I did see that they released a lot of items online that they were featuring for the event. If you did attend the event, I’d love to know what you picked up! Here are some of the items that caught my attention while I browsed online, sick from my bed.
- Drunk Elephant Beste Jelly Cleanser $34.00
The link for this product isn’t available anymore, but I’m SUPER curious about this cleanser. Not only does it feature a ton of good for you ingredients like oils and vitamins, but one ingredient in particular caught my attention: Cantaloupe Extract! I can’t say I’ve heard this used in other skincare (maybe!?!?) so call me curious. I’ve read that the texture on this cleanser is very unique and that it features Marula Oil and Aloe Vera Leaf Extract. So yeah…..I’ll be picking this one up for sure!
I am the biggest fan of Urban Decay’s entire Naked product line. Their eyeshadows palettes, foundations and concealers have wow’d me with almost every single product release and now they’re including a perfume oil to the Naked line of products! It sounds amazing!
It unveils top notes of Italian bergamot, petitgrain, mandarin, and lemon, with orange blossom and neroli. The base notes carry hints of lavender, jasmine, and musk.
- Clinique Pep-Start Double Bubble Purifying Mask $24.50
I don’t know a whole lot about this mask, but I did read that unlike other bubble masks, this Clinique mask requires you to shake to activate it. Yep, curious again. When I find out more about this one, I’ll be the first to let you know! I’m guessing this will be great for a nice detox session for the skin! Anyone else fascinated with bubble masks?!?!
There were some other products that were released during the event, but those are the ones that really caught my attention! Also, how in the heck are we already previewing fall product releases already. #TimeFlies
Products I’ve Been Testing
I’ve had so many new products hit my mailbox and my shopping cart recently and I’ve been doing a ton of testing. I’m not quite ready to do reviews just yet, but know that there are plenty of good ones coming your way! The one that I’m probably the most excited to share? The Clarisonic Sonic Foundation Brush. Yep, Clarisonic makes an attachment for your Clarisonic Brush for your Foundation. I’ve been testing it and I’ve got thoughts! Expect to read about them soon!
Other products I’ve been testing:
- Derma-E Nourishing Rose Cleansing Oil
- ELEMIS 24/7 Super Skin 3-Piece Collection (Available NOW, normally retails for $264.00, but on sale for $99.00)
- Living Proof PHD In-Shower Hair Styler
- Smashbox Casey Holmes Spotlight Palette in Pearl (total impulse purchase, but dang so good!)
Cold Medicine, Tissues and Tea
Towards the end of last week, I realized that I was probably getting a cold. It started with a sore throat, then it turned into cold chills and a runny nose. Here I am, using nose spray, just took cold medicine and clinging on to Vicks Tissues like they’re my best friend. This cold hit me hard, so if I seem a bit slow in posting this week, just know that I’m fighting this darn cold!
What did you do last week? Anything fun?
